Promotion Guidelines of Appointed Senior High School Teachers

After three years since the launch of Senior High School Program, as the full implementation of the Philippines' K-12 Basic Education, many Senior High School teachers eagerly anticipate the requirements on how to advance with their respective teaching careers. Unfortunately, many teachers are still at a loss due to the lack of specific guidelines for SHS Promotion/Reclassification from education authorities.

In an official document, a School Division Superintendent in Central Visayas had provided a glimmer of hope for the appointed Senior High School teachers in their division on how to apply for the anticipated career progression.

According to the memorandum, Senior High School Teachers who wish to be promoted as Teacher III will be guided by DepEd Order No. 66, s. 2007 (Revised Guidelines on the Appointment and Promotion of Other Teaching and Non-Teaching Positions).

Read Promotion to Teacher III position.

Promotion to a Master Teacher position (both Academic and TVL Strands) requires applicants to meet the criteria stipulated in DECS Order No. 57, s. 1997 entitled “Further Implementation of the Career Progression System for Master Teachers, 2017 Omnibus Rules on Appointments and Other Human Resource Actions (ORAOHRA) and other issuances.

For Academic Track teachers:

For TVL track teachers:

*Promotion to Master Teacher I position requires at least 25 points in leadership and potential or has been a demonstration teacher on the district plus 15 points in leadership potential.

Master Teacher II:

*Promotion to Master Teacher II position requires, at least 30 points in leadership and potential or has been a demonstration teacher on the district plus 20 points in leadership and potential provided the activities or accomplishments has not been credited or used for earlier promotions.

The Philippine Civil Service Commission Rules states that an employee may be promoted to a position which is not more than three (3) salary grades higher than the employee's present position (Section 97 of the 2017 ORAOHRA).

Dito sa aming division wala pa ring promotion na naganap sa aming mga shs teachers. I came from jhs alre2a t3 but unfortunately hindi nabigyan ng MT position Kaya until now t3 pa rin. Walang pagbabago taliwas sa sinabi Nila na ang mga t3 sa jhs ay magiging Mt pag lilipat ng shs. So sad 😢

Good evening, What about those holding a Assisting Principal item? Could they be promoted to be the principal of the same school?
Mayroon bang reclassification of item ng Asst, Principal II to Asst. Prin, III or to Principal II kaagad?
