Since 1994, the World Teachers' Day (WTD) is held every October 5. The world celebrates this year's theme “Young Teachers: The Future of the Profession,” as stated in UNESCO's website.
Meanwhile in the Philippines, the National Teachers' Month (NTM) celebration carries the theme "Gurong Pilipino: Handa sa Makabagong Pagbabago."
In line with the events, here is the official prayer for teachers released by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) for the Teachers' Day 2019 celebration:
NATIONAL PRAYER FOR TEACHERS
God of wisdom, greatest Teacher of all,
look with love and kindness
on teachers everywhere.
Give them strength of body, largeness of hearts
and soundness of mind
so that they may perform their task with vigor, competence,
compassion and patience.
Help them to be committed to their mission
to shape the tender minds
of the young in the knowledge
of the truth, the love for your creation
and the value of peace in this world.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen..
